Confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of the therapeutic relationship. Everything you share with me is strictly kept confidential. We are bound by legal and ethical guidelines to remain confidential in our practice with clients. However, there are a few exceptions to confidentiality: If you are immediate harm to yourself or others, if there is suspected child or elder abuse, court subpoenas, or consultations.
